Emtec Core & Protect successfully complete the Passive Fire Protection requirements during the refurbishment of Glasgow’s Eagle Building.

The refurbishment comprised of creating a new entrance and reception area, ground floor café, cycle and shower facilities and fully refurbished office space over multiple levels.

Core & Protect’s package included upgrading the fire protection of the building’s existing structural steel frame, which involved removing the steel’s existing paint coatings before applying a specialist primer, intumescent basecoat, and decorative top seal, to achieve a 120 minute fire rating. The contract also involved diamond drilling and sawing works, fire stopping and fire board encasements.
